National biology week takes place from 8th- 16th October 2016. It showcases the important and amazing world of the biosciences. Children will love to get hands on with science and have fun playing biology games.
The Royal Society of Biology has a number of resources available to help people celebrate. Children can make ‘what is biology’ fortune tellers, make LEGO stem cells, discover how mushrooms get their spots with a fun activity , make their own garden and much more.
The society also have kits available to borrow although this is aimed at to groups. I am going to try to get one so that I can put on a biology day in our local home education community. Wouldn’t it be great if home education groups across the UK also had a go at this?
Where Can I find the resources?
The resources are available at the Royal Society of Biologysite. The website isn’t the easiest one to navigate but it is worth spending a little time investigating.
How will you celebrate biology week this year?
